Ferry sinks off Indonesia's Bali, 9 dead

An Indonesian search and rescue official says nine people have died and three others are missing after a small ferry capsized off the tourist resort island of Bali.
The chief of the Bali search and rescue agency says the Putra Romo was carrying 27 passengers and crew when it sank Wednesday amid strong winds in the straits of Badung in central Indonesia.
Ketut Prawa says 12 passengers and three crew have been rescued and are being treated at a hospital.
Indonesia is the world's largest archipelago nation and its seas can be treacherous, especially during the rainy season from September to April.
