Weiss calls Skrtel into squad for WCup qualifiers

Slovakia coach Vladimir Weiss recalled Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel into the squad for World Cup qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Northern Ireland despite a recent jaw injury.
Defender Jan Durica of Lokomotiv Moscow, midfielder Marek Sapara of Rosenborg and the coach's son, Vladimir Weiss of Manchester City, are also back in the squad, the Slovak football association said on its Web site.
"These are our best players," Weiss said. "I believe and hope they will not let us down."
Slovakia hosts the Czech Republic on Sept. 5 and travels to Northern Ireland on Sept. 9.
Slovakia leads Group 3 with 15 points from six matches, ahead of Northern Ireland with 13 points from seven matches. The Czech Republic is in fifth place with eight points.
