Four Ethiopian athletes go missing in Scotland

Four Ethiopian athletes were reported missing on Tuesday after quitting their hotel ahead of a low-key meet.
Women's 200-meter runner Betelhem Shewatatek, 400-meter hurdler Feleke Bekele and men's 400-meter competitor Hagos Tadesse and hurdler Tirehas Haileselassie were scheduled to compete against England, Ireland and a Scottish team at the Falkirk Cup on Wednesday. None of them are regular starters in major meets.
"My colleague actually tried to restrain two of them but they ran off," said Dagmawit Amare, part of the Ethiopian team management in Scotland, who has been working with Scottish Athletics. "This is such a sad thing to happen for my country and the sport."
Scottish Athletics chief executive Geoff Wightman said his organization had reported their disappearance to the police.
