Maradona predicts victory over Brazil

Diego Maradona predicted a victory against Brazil in their World Cup qualifier at Rosario on Sept. 5.
Two-time world champion Argentina is struggling to reach next year's World Cup, while Brazil leads the South American group.
"We're going to win because we have better players," Maradona said in an interview late Monday on Radio Palermo.
"By beating them we will show everything we have as a group," he added. "The boys are strong."
Maradona said forward Lionel Messi has developed more quickly than he did.
"I could not be as consistent as Messi," Maradona said. "Lio has developed more quickly than me. He's had no major injuries."
Brazil, the No. 1-ranked team in the world, leads South America with 27 points followed by Chile (26), Paraguay (24) and Argentina (22). They are followed by Ecuador (20) and Uruguay (18). The top four teams in the group advance automatically to South Africa. No. 5 faces a playoff with No. 4 from the North and Central American and Caribbean region for another berth.
After the Sept. 5 match, Argentina plays on Sept. 9 at Paraguay, is home on Oct. 10 against Peru and wraps up qualifying on Oct. 13 at Uruguay.
