Man charged over German court killing

German prosecutors say they have filed murder charges against a man who fatally stabbed a pregnant Egyptian woman in court _ a killing that caused outrage in the Muslim world.
Dresden prosecutors said Tuesday the 28-year-old acted out of "hatred for non-Europeans and Muslims" on July 1. The Russian-born German has been identified only as Alex W.
Prosecutors say he also is charged with attempted murder for stabbing the victim's husband.
Marwa al-Sherbini, a 31-year-old pharmacist, was stabbed 18 times in the court where she was to testify against the suspect. She had filed a complaint against him in 2008 accusing him of insulting her with racial slurs.
Her husband was injured when he intervened to protect her.
It is unclear when a trial might open.
