Mass trial continues of Iran opposition protesters

Dozens of opposition activists are on trial in Tehran on charges of rioting and plotting to topple the ruling Islamic system after the disputed presidential election.
The proceedings in Tehran's Revolutionary Court are seen as an attempt by the authorities to discredit the pro-reform movement and stifle the anti-government protests that have persisted since the June 12 election.
Iran's state TV says those in court on Tuesday include former Deputy Interior Minister Mostafa Tajzadeh, former Deputy Foreign Minister Mohsen Aminzadeh and former government spokesman Abdollah Ramezanzadeh _ all prominent reformists.
Hundreds have been arrested in the crackdown on the opposition movement that has denounced President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad proclaimed election victory.
