Tropical depression forms far out in Pacific

Forecasters say a tropical depression has formed in the Pacific and it's likely to turn into a tropical storm, though it's not threatening land.
As of Monday evening, the National Hurricane Center said the tropical depression had maximum sustained winds near 35 mph (55 kph) with stronger gusts. It was expected to become a tropical storm Monday or Tuesday.
Its center was located about 660 miles (1,060 km) southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula. It was moving west-northwest near 10 mph (17 kph).
