Wildfires in Greece threaten homes

Authorities in Greece say wildfires are threatening homes in southern and central areas, where strong winds are hindering firefighters.
Fire officials say three helicopters are helping 100 firefighters outside the central city of Thebes, about 45 miles (75 kilometers) north of Athens.
In a separate fire Monday, six planes are involved in firefighting efforts outside the city of Corinth, 55 miles (85 kilometers) west of Athens.
Greece is plagued by summer wildfires each year. Blazes in 2007 killed more than 70 people.
