Tropical Depression Ana soaks Puerto Rico

Heavy thunderstorms rolled across the northeastern Caribbean on Monday but the first major tropical-weather system of the season apparently moved too fast to do much damage.
There were reports of heavy rain and minor local flooding but no major damage as Tropical Depression Ana moved through the region, passing just to the south of Puerto Rico. The system had been downgraded earlier from a tropical storm.
The system has been moving unusually fast across the region. Forecasters at the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida, said Ana was heading west-northwest at 28 mph (45 kmh) and could dissipate as it crosses the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
