Ajax beats Groningen 2-0 in Dutch league 1st round

New coach Martin Jol, seeking to end Ajax's five-year title drought, marked his debut with a 2-0 win at FC Groningen in the opening round of the Dutch league Sunday.
Miralem Sulejmani ran on to Dennis Rommedahl's back pass and fired Ajax into the lead four minutes from the break. Rommedahl then converted new captain Luis Suarez's cross in the 72nd.
