Itinerants join book club

DEAR KABAYAN,

Thanks a lot for the magazines and the pocketbook that you sent me. I am really enjoying them. I will also be lending them to my neighbor. Once I am done with those materials, I will be mailing them back to you so that you could lend them to other migrants. I also have some pocketbooks, and I will be mailing them to you as soon as I get my wages. Right now, I am really broke. I am so sorry.

May the almighty God bless you so that you will never grow tired of helping those who need it. Thank you also for the Kabayan section. It is my only companion on Sundays.

ROSIE

DEAR KABAYAN,

I want to thank you for the reading materials that you sent me. I received them on April 26.

Secondhand books, magazines are a godsend, say home-based migrants

I was so happy when I got your parcel. I felt like a child who received a gift from a dear friend. Those materials are helping ease my boredom. I know that my boss will get mad if he sees me reading. I do not care anymore about what he thinks. I will read them during my free time. How I wish I could also help our fellow migrants who are not getting any days off.

K.J.

DEAR ROSIE AND K.J.,

First of all, you will be seeing a new Kabayan section on May 14. Don't miss that issue.

All of you will be getting more reading materials this week courtesy of our generous donor, Imelda Farol. That's a promise. I was supposed to mail them last week but work got in the way. My apologies. We would also like to congratulate Ana Trilles, one of our donors, on her impending nuptials. Yup, she is getting married!

The Taipei International Church's Tagalog Fellowship has also included you guys on their mailing list. You will also be regularly receiving their quarterly magazine, Kaibigan (Friend). Our sincerest thanks to Pastor Paul Ko and his staff.

If you want to join the Kabayan Book Club - that is, if you want to donate or be one of our club recipients - just write Kabayan or text us your full name and address at 0918-340-548. It would also help if you would tell me the type of reading materials that you prefer. If we have them, we will send them to you. By the way, does any of you like mystery or detective novels? I have loads of Agatha Christie books.

Send your secondhand books to: Kabayan c/o Taiwan News, No. 88, 7F, Xinyi Rd., Sec. 2, Taipei City 106.

We would like to thank Janice, Ana, Arlyn, Rosie, Gema, Adora, Lorna, Girlie, Maria Teresa, Lonely Mama, K.J., Angelie, Eliza, Marilou, and Myrna for signing up.
