Technical glitch delays SKorea's 1st rocket launch

South Korea's launch of its first two-stage rocket has been delayed.
The space launch vehicle was set for liftoff July 30 from the country's new space center. The rocket mounted with a satellite will be the first launched from its South Korean soil.
Science Ministry official Yum Ki-soo said Friday that the Russian firm helping to build the rocket has cited technical grounds for the delay and asked for a new launch date.
The planned launch comes nearly four months after North Korea fired off its own multistage rocket. The U.S., South Korea and other nations criticized it as a test of long-range missile technology.
