Belgium prepares for swine flu

The Belgian military has been called in to distribute stockpiles of masks and anti-viral medicines across the country in preparation for an expected increase of swine flu cases.
Belgian Defense Minister Pieter De Crem told VRT Television the pre-positioned supplies represents one-fifth of medical supplies the government has stockpiled in case of a pandemic of the virus.
Some 90,000 doses of antivirals and 900,000 masks are being relayed to regions across Belgium on Wednesday.
Business and labor union groups say they expect one in four workers to be affected by swine flu later this year.
Belgium's influenza task force has reported 100 cases of the virus but expects that number to jump when the weather cools in the autumn.
