Brazil stayed alive in its Davis Cup World Group tie against Croatia by winning Saturday's doubles to cut the host's lead to 2-1.Marcelo Melo and Andre Sa defeated Ivo Karlovic and Lovro Zovko 6-7 (3), 6-2, 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-3 in nearly four hours.
Melo and Sa _ ranked eighth in doubles _ lost their serve only once but still couldn't put their opponents away until breaking Zovko's serve to make it 4-3 in the decider.
On Sunday, Ivo Karlovic of Croatia faces Thomaz Dellucci of Brazil, while Mario Ancic plays against Thiago Alves.
