The Tourism Bureau announced the latest inbound tourist number which shows a continuing decline of Chinese tourists in September, while the numbers of Korean and Thailand tourists have greatly increased.
The number shows a decrease in tourists from Asia Pacific from 770,089 to 697,685, with a 9.4% reduction in comparison to 2015, which was mainly caused by the sharp drop of Chinese tourist. However, other tourism sources besides China are mostly increased, with an increase of 70.63%on Korean tourists and a 66% growth on Thai tourists compared with the same month last year.
The Tourism Bureau also said that the number of inbound tourists is decreased at 9.4% compared with 2015, but the number of tourists from other Asian countries from January to September has reached 10.3 million, with a growth of 11.42% as compared with the same period last year.
