Taiwanese golf player Candie Kung started the second day solo second and maintained her position near the top of the leader board with a five-under par, 66 on June 25 at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship.

She is entering the final round two-strokes back of the lead in search of her fifth win on Tour.

Kung, Alena Sharp and Jing Yan finished the second day tied for third at 12-under par, two-strokes behind Lydia Ko and Morgan Pressel, who share the lead at 14-under par.

The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship is a 54-hole event with a purse of US$2 million.

Kung went low on the first day, posting her lowest round of the year, 64, and carded a five-under par, 66 on the second day with a round that included seven birdies and two bogies.

Kung, who took all of last week off dealing with a health issue, made a last-minute decision to drive up to the venue. She called a friend to help on the bag as opposed to her normal caddy after deciding she felt well enough to play this week.
