Taipei, Sept. 2 (CNA) Taiwan's top negotiator on cross-strait affairs is scheduled to meet with his Chinese counterpart Thursday in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, as part of a trip to visit Taiwanese businesspeople and Communist Party of China (CPC) officials.

Lin Join-sane, chairman of Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation, and Chen Deming, president of China's Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits, are expected to meet at an event held by an association of Taiwanese businesspeople based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

Chen and Lin had a closed-door meeting in Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province on Aug. 30, before a forum with Taiwanese businesspeople.

Responding to reporters' questions after the meeting, Chen said the matter of Chang Hsien-yao, Taiwan's ousted deputy head of China affairs who allegedly had been leaking secrets to Beijing, will eventually seem "trivial" within the context of long-term cross-strait ties.

Lin, meanwhile, told reporters that he and Chen had not discussed the Chang case, but had agreed in the meeting that the pursuit of peace between Taiwan and China should not be affected by "trivial things."

Leading a delegation of foundation board members and supervisors, Lin is on a visit to Ningbo and Hangzhou cities in Zhejiang from Sept. 2-5.

The delegation will meet with several CPC officials in Zhejiang, including the province's party chief Xia Baolong.

They are also scheduled to visit the Formosa Plastics Group's industrial park in Ningbo; Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Area; and Dongfeng Yulon Motor Co., a Hangzhou-based joint venture between the Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor and Taiwan's Yulon Motor.

The delegation is expected to hold discussions with Taiwanese businesspeople based in those areas.
