Taiwan Taoyuan Airport among world's excellent airports

Taipei, March 25 (CNA) Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport has been included in a global airport service quality roll of excellence in 2014 by Airports Council International (ACI), the airport's operator, Taoyuan Airport Corp., said Tuesday. According to the ACI website, Taoyuan is one of six airports to be inducted into the roll of excellence for high service standards. The others are the major international gateways in Cairo, Dubai, Iceland, Jamaica and Hyderabad in southern India. To qualify, new inductees have to be ranked in an air service quality survey among the top five in their respective regions or globally in their size categories for five of the last six years (2008-2013), Taoyuan Airport Corp. added. Taoyuan International Airport has been ranked among the world's top five since 2008 for its service quality, except for 2011. In 2013, it placed third in the 25-40 million passenger category. Since 2011, 21 airports have been inducted into the roll of excellence for their service recognized by passengers who participated in ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) surveys. They include Seoul's Incheon International Airport, Changi Airport in Singapore, Beijing Capital International Airport and Zurich Airport in Switzerland. The inductees will be officially recognized in ACI's annual Asia-Pacific conference to be held in Seoul May 26. ACI is the global trade representative of the world's airports. It advances the collective interests of, and acts as the voice of the world's airports and the communities they serve, and promotes professional excellence in airport management and operations, according to its website.
