Taipei, Jan. 17 (CNA) Taiwan will soon allow imports of Canadian bone-in beef and other meat products from cattle under 30 months of age, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) announced Friday. The new market-opening measure will take effect as soon as administrative procedures are completed, the ministry said. The relaxation measure is part of the government's efforts to boost trade and economic cooperation with Canada, a member state of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, said Vice Economics Minister Francis Liang at a news conference. Closer trade ties with Canada can help foster a favorable climate for Taiwan's bid to join the free trade bloc, he added.
