Taipei, Jan. 16 (CNA) Temperatures will remain mild around Taiwan Friday before dropping as yet another cold air mass approaches Saturday, the Central Weather Bureau forecast. The bureau expected warm weather for all of Taiwan during the daytime Friday, though it cautioned of temperature shifts between daylight and nighttime hours. From Thursday night to early Friday morning, northern Taiwan is set for lows of 12-14 degrees Celsius, while central Taiwan will experience lows of 11-13 degrees and southern Taiwan lows of 13-15 degrees. A weather front is likely to bring intermittent rain to mountainous areas in the north and east Friday, as well. Cloudy to sunny skies are forecast for the outlying islands of Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu, though strong winds are expected to sweep these islands as well as Green Island and Lanyu (Orchid Island) off eastern Taiwan. With the approach of a strong cold front, temperatures will dip in northern and northeastern Taiwan starting Saturday, the bureau predicted. (Chen Tzu-ling and Y.L. Kao)
