Taipei, Jan. 10 (CNA) Saturday will be the day to go out this weekend, with dry weather expected to prevail around Taiwan, before another cold air mass moves in late Sunday, bringing rain and lower temperatures for much of next week, the Central Weather Bureau said Friday. The influence of a cold air mass that has engulfed Taiwan since Wednesday will ease off after a chilly Saturday morning, the weather bureau said. The weather will be partly cloudy or sunny in the western part of the island with temperatures in the north rising to a high of 20-22 degrees Celsius during the day, it said. The highs in central and southern Taiwan, where it is expected to be sunny, will range between 22 and 25 degrees. The clear weather is expected to last only until midday Sunday, when the next cold air mass will begin to arrive, lowering temperatures in the following days until they reach 10 degrees on Jan. 15-17 in northern Taiwan. Rain is also expected for the northern and eastern parts of Taiwan beginning Sunday, and mountainous areas in central and southern Taiwan are also expected to see rain on Jan. 13-14.
