With its Taipei - Jakarta route operating again as of May last year, Garuda Indonesia has been working to upgrade its overall operations and actively developing plans to enhance flight safety and service quality. These efforts have paid off well already, as seen in Garuda Indonesia’s naming as the "World's Best Regional Airline" for 2012 by international air services research agency Skytrax. This was followed by the announcement by Skytrax at the Paris Air Show in June that Garuda Indonesia had won its 2013 "World's Best Economy Class" award and was also on the list of Skytrax’ Top Ten Best Airlines for the year.

Garuda Indonesia Taiwan General Manager Joseph Tendean notes, "Garuda Indonesia currently has 34 domestic destinations and 35 international destinations. The average age of our fleet is only six years, very young in comparison with many airlines. We expect to have a total of 194 aircraft by 2015, with four new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft joining the fleet in July this year. These aircraft will soon be flying our long-range routes between Jakarta and Europe and Australasia.”

This summer Garuda Indonesia offers travelers a fantastic VIP Promotion. Effective immediately anyone who purchases a round-trip ticket between Taipei and Jakarta plus domestic flights to three or more destinations in Indonesia can enjoy a 30% discount on airfare. More details are available from travel agencies and Garuda Indonesia offices.
