Elan, Apple settle patent litigation out of court

Taipei, Jan. 5 (CNA) Elan Microelectronics Corp., a local chip and touch screen maker, said Thursday that it has settled a patent infringement litigation against Apple Inc. out of court. The two parties have come to an agreement that they have interactive authorization of patents, with the U.S. high-tech giant giving US$5 million to the Taiwanese firm, according to Elan.
