Taipei Universiade invites the public out for three nights of starlight movies

Taipei citizens are sincerely welcome to invite your friends and family to have a wonderful picnic and a party of sports movies under the starry night

TAIPEI (Taiwan News)--With Taipei Summer Universiade only 93 days away, the organizer of the games invited the public out for movies on the nights of this coming weekend.    

The Universiade Movie Night will transform Daan Forest Park into a starlight movie theater, according to the organizer. "Taipei citizens are sincerely welcome to invite your friends and family to have a wonderful picnic and a party of sports movies under the starry night," the organizer said in a post on the Taipei Universiade official website. 

The organizer will play international movies by theme for each night from May 19 to May 21.  Six specially-selected sports movies from Canada, Netherlands, Singapore, Germany, Australia, and France are all first to the public in Taiwan. Two sports movies from Taiwan--"Step back to glory" (志氣) and "Jump! Boys" (翻滾吧!男孩)--that are both awarded Golden Horse Awards will also be played, according to the organizer.

The movies will start at 6:30 p.m. each night at the open-air theater in Daan Forest Park.
