Mattel slumped Friday after the nation's largest toy maker reported a big drop in its first-quarter sales as it dealt with a holiday hangover from too many unsold items.
Yields on longer-term U.S. bonds are sinking, while those for shorter-term Treasuries have climbed, a phenomenon economists call "flattening." It could be a signal of an economic slowdown.
