The Taipei Exchange (TPEx) announced today that it has renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). The renewal of agreement is designed to further the development of securities markets in Taiwan and Thailand, encourage the sharing of information, and foster new opportunities for the Exchanges and their respective issuers. The two sides believe that closer cooperation can complement and facilitate the development of both financial markets and further enhance the economic ties between Taiwan and Thailand. The MOU was signed during the event of the 56th annual meeting of World Ferdaeration of Exchanges on November 1st, 2016.

Closer ties between TPEx and SET bring several opportunities. These include the cross-listing of companies or products to facilitate portfolio diversification for investors in both economies; a multilateral trading facility that will further enhance the convenience of cross-border investment; and to develop networking mechanisms and business matching activities for market participants in both exchanges to bring tangible benefits to both economies.
