The weighted index of the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TAIEX) closed Tuesday’s trading session at 9243.78, up 102.47 or 1.12% with market turnover of NT$86.36 billion.
Foreign traders remarked, gains in the TAIEX Tuesday came primarily from leading electronic industry issues. Turnover of TSMC (2330), MediaTek (2454), Hon Hai (2317), and Largan (3008) shares totaled NT$11.73 billion.
Of the 102.47 point gain on the TAIEX, foreign traders stated, statistical information shows TSMC contributed the most at 9.07 points followed by MediaTek at 5.5 points, Hon Hai at 4.5 points, and soon to be trading ex-dividend Largan at 3 points for a total contribution of 22.07 points.
According to the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), foreign institutional investors (including mainland investors) purchased a net NT$6.08 billion, dealers bought a net NT$1.76 billion, and securities investment trust companies bought a net NT$543 million.
