Tourism Bureau uses Taipei 101 to pitch major attractions

Taipei, Aug. 12 (CNA) The Tourism Bureau is hoping to capitalize on popularity of skyscraper Taipei 101's observatory to showcase Taiwan's tourist destinations, tourism officials said Tuesday. A designated area on the 89th-floor observatory will feature displays of the most appealing attractions in Taiwan's 22 cities and counties until Sept. 30, the bureau said. As the observatory itself attracts some 2 million visitors per year, the bureau said, it could be an ideal platform to publicize the destinations, which are rich in culture and history. (By James Lee)
