6.0 earthquake struck off Indonesia

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck off the coast of Indonesia early Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
No tsunami alert was immediately issued.
The quake, which hit at 3:12 a.m. local time (2012 GMT), was centered about 110 miles (175 kilometers) southwest of Tanjungkarang-Telukbetung on the island of Sumatra, according to the U.S.G.S. Its recorded depth was 19 miles (31 kilometers).
The quake struck about 195 miles (315 kilometers) west of Jakarta.
