Haiti holds special election for 3 deputy seats

Haiti is holding a special election for three legislative seats in the countryside.
Six candidates are competing for three spots in the 99-member Chamber of Deputies. Election commission spokesman Pierre Thibault says he has heard of no problems at the polls.
The candidates are from a mix of opposition parties. They are competing to represent the rural areas of La Vallee de Jacmel, Verrettes and Fond-Verrettes and Ganthier.
The deputy races won't influence the parliamentary balance of power.
Final results will be announced June 13.
The election was pushed back to Sunday from March 20 because poll workers weren't organized in time.
